A night of passion has forever bound Jenna Morgan to a man she thought she would spend her future with. Instead, he dumped her with barely a word of explanation and left the state. Three years later, she’s a single mom struggling to provide for her son and young sister, and harassed by an obsessed stalker.

After leaving home three years ago to run his aging grandfather’s ranch in Texas, Sam Strickland returns to Tennessee to discover a child he didn’t know existed. He thought he was saving Jenna’s future when he left home, and left her behind. He never dreamed he’d return to see a child with eyes the same shade as his own - and Jenna in serious trouble.

Sam thinks his only dilemma is whether he can earn back the trust of the woman he loves and commit to the responsibility of fatherhood. But Jenna’s life is more complicated than he could have imagined and he finds himself involved in a dangerous situation that could threaten his new son’s life.

Bound To You edition by Vanessa Holland Literature Fiction eBooks

A single mother and the sole support of her teenage sister, Jenna Morgan is in dire financial strait. And, as if it was not enough, Sam, the father of her son is back in town after three years. Jenna knows that Sam is "bad news" for her heart because she still feels the same way towards him as it was three years ago. She is so scared that Sam will break her heart again. But her son Ethan's future is at stake. Yet, accepting Sam's help also means opening herself to a lot of hurt.

With poignant and bittersweet memories permeating in the whole, Jenna tugs at your heartstings from page 1 while you also fall in love with Sam the moment he walks into the picture. Both Jenna and Sam are young and impulsive. Still, both of them are willing to take responsibilities for the results of their actions.

I love it that Sam slowly fell in love with Ethan and did not do the super dad act. He took baby steps to become a father and also took very careful steps to make Jenna trust him again. The love is there; the physical attraction is there too. But both have been tempered with responsibilities to Ethan, their son. There were several times in the book that I was ready to shed a tear.

A good read. This book is PG 13 due to situational drama. There were sex scenes but not graphic.

Bound To You edition by Vanessa Holland Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I liked a lot of things about this book and then there were a few things I wish could have been handled a little better. I thought the characters were well developed and the dialogue was pretty believable. I had not problem with the actual plot, as it was interesting and the situations in the book weren't too far fetched.

This writing is excellent at giving descriptions of the locations she uses in her book and you could almost imagine that you were standing right there because of her vivid imagery. All of these things were positives and made me want to finish this book.

What id didn't love so much about it was that the author tends to give things away long before they happen. I like it when I am allowed to use my imagination a little while reading and that was hard to do with this title. I won't say exactly what I mean for fear of an accidental spoiler, but I will say that I think this book would have deserved five stars if the major revelation in the book would have come later. Still, this was an enjoyable read and I would read another book by this author.
First, let me say, I enjoyed the story, overall. I'd recommend it as a sweet love story.

However, I have to admit I struggled a little with Sam and his family acting as if Jenna had wronged him by keeping Ethan a secret. Sam is the one who was a rather weak, immature young man who allowed Jenna's father to chase him away! Sam didn't even have the decency to break up with her in person, but rather called her and said it was over and hung up! So I really didn't want to like him. His mother didn't help his case in my opinion, as she was downright hateful and witchy about Jenna because Jenna didn't jump right up and run to introduce her son to Sam's family. Jenna was the mayor's daughter -- they had to have known she had a baby out of wedlock, and they knew she'd been with Sam; simple math should've given them a clue, so I felt they owned a large part of the blame for their not knowing their grandson.

I also found it a little hard to believe Brandon Stewart held the grudge he did against Jenna -- I'm trying not to give things away, so I'm being vague here on purpose. Jenna had absolutely nothing to do with Brandon's situation, and it was a stretch for me to believe -- but I suppose that's the point, he was a nut-job, right? -)

Sam did finally win me over, wanting to do the right thing, wanting to be a father and support Jenna in every way he could. So I'm somewhere between "I Like It" and "It's Okay", leaning a little more toward "I Like It". I'll be interested in reading more by this author.
unfortunately the book didn't suck me in.

But let me start with the plot, which actually had a lot of potential. After a night of passionate sex with Sam, Jenna thinks that she will spend the rest of her life with him. However, the next day Sam calls and without letting Jenna utter a single word, he tells her that their "thing" is over. Jenna is shocked, especially when some time later she finds out that she's pregnant. But not enough with this. Soon after her father's death she finds out that he managed the family's finances very recklessly and most probably soon Jenna, her son and her little sister will lose everything. And all of a sudden Sam is back in town. He doesn't know anything about his son and Jenna decides to take the chance and let him know. How will Sam react, what will the consequences be?

This plot unraveled with nearly any action at all and sometimes it reminded me of reading a report. Supposedly this was a love story but there were nearly no emotions at all. Yes, the author tried to keep the problems the couple and their families faced as well as how they tried to solve those realistic but there should at least have been some trace of a romantic atmosphere. (BTW, if you're looking for hot love scenes be warned that there are none, not even suggestively). Moreover, the plot was slightly predictable and just had too many positive turns for my taste.

Sam's initial reactions to his fatherhood were well depicted, however he made a very immature impression. His family and especially his parents were very likeable and supported the plot perfectly. Jenna on the other hand was more realistic in her ways but again, I would have preferred a more emotional reaction to the "disasters" she had to face on all fronts.

All in all not a bad read but could definitely have been better.
