Very insightful. Having previously read The Sand Crab Chronicles, this brought a new, possibly better understanding of some of the characters. Walker Newton's vivid descriptions of St. Augustine Beach life, the farmlands of Kentucky, his colorful characters, make you feel as if you are right there, a part of the book. I could here the music, feel the sun and salt spray, smell the barbecue, taste the beer.As always there are twists, turns and surprises. Expect the unexpected.
If you live at the beach, or wish you did, read Walker Newton's books. You will laugh, sigh, maybe see a bit of yourself in one of the characters. And next time you stop at Jacks, the Grille or the Beachcomber, maybe you will catch a glimpse of Rick and Ellie, Tiki, Poon or one of the other zany characters from the book. Take a seat, grab a beer and enjoy!

This is hands down the dumbest book I have ever read. Good overview of St. Augustine, however. I'm sure this was self published.
I felt like I was the "fly on the wall"(as I've wanted to be many times) watching this story unfold . Every character and setting drew me in .I stayed up way too late reading it, so of course I loved it.
St. Augustine Set is a copulation of what my "Dream Life" on a beach would be....eccentric characters living outlandish experiences!
I'm not quite sure if Mr. Newton is spinning his own "tail" or if this "tale" is actually his life! What and amazing story either way!!!
I completely enjoyed becoming wrapped up in this diverse mystery thriller with all the bizarre, unconventional (some derelict) and hilarious characters situated around a small beach community and their crazy antics.
I rate this as one of my all time top reads...., clear your schedule because you won't want to be interrupted as the mystery unfolds!!!

No plot was evident. It is just about partying and drinking.

Walker Newton really gives a true perspective of life in St. Augustine and his characters are rich in personality. Has you laughing one minute and guessing the next. A recommended read.
